As an experiment, the Committee have decided to run the Men's August Medal over the weekend of 29-30th August (rather than just Sat 29th).  The intention is to provide a more flexible way to enter the medal which might also increase total entry.  The rules are simple:

  • you can enter the medal once only during the weekend
  • you cannot split your medal round over 2 days!
  • it is very unlikely that any tee positions would be changed between the two days (other than perhaps because of damage to the course).  If they are moved, you just play the tees as marked
  • you cannot practice prior to your round on any hole (or part thereof) used by the medal ON THE DAY YOU PLAY IN THE MEDAL

For example, if you decided to play in the medal on Saturday afternoon, you could not practice or play a KO (say) on the Saturday morning over the medal course.  If you played in the medal on Saturday morning, you can play whatever and wherever you like afterwards.  If you decided to play the medal on Sunday, you can play whatever and wherever you like on Saturday.

What if the weather is much better on one day?  Tough - you just have to decide in advance and take your chances!
