Winter Mixed Pairs Knock Out Cup.

A bitter sweet moment as Lady Captain Elaine Knobel-Forbes (Left) presents her husband and Tina Broadley with the Chishill Vase following her defeat with Martin Lane in the Winter Mixed Pairs Knock-out Final over the blustery Essex and Cambridgeshire Courses at Heydon Grange.  Two up at the turn, Broadley immediately piled on the pressure by taking both the 10th and 11th holes with pars and with Malcolm Knobel-Forbes driving the 12th green the pair went five up and the game appeared sealed.  However, a missed short putt by Malcolm Knobel-Forbes on the 13th gave Elaine Knobel-Forbes and Martin Lane a breathing space which they promptly seized and Elaine Knobel-Forbes’ par on the 14th and Lane’s crucial seven foot putt on the 15th put the leading pair under the first real pressure of the game.  However, Broadley’s cool nerve held and her halved par on the 16th secured the victory.
